About Nestworks Construction
Master craftsmanship
that builds to last
Architecturally significant.
Technically remarkable.
Unmistakably yours.
At Nestworks, craftsmanship means combining proven building principles with the latest innovation. It means successfully solving complex technical challenges — the kind that make your home not just beautiful, but built to perform efficiently and reliably for years to come. It means transparent processes, personal relationships, and getting every last detail right.
We see each project as the chance to build something meaningful and lasting, and are passionate about making your home the best possible reflection of your vision and lifestyle.
The Nestworks Mission:
Build exceptional custom homes that reflect who you are
and how you live with skill, innovation, and care.
Why choose Nestworks?
-
We combine cutting-edge sustainable technologies with a lifelong passion for the craft of carpentry and construction, and we’ve won awards for the city’s best net-zero home.
-
We’re single family home experts — there’s nothing you can think of inside a house that we can’t solve for you. From permitting and regulations to the nuances of high-end residential construction, this is the only kind of work we do and we do it really, really well.
-
We curate the number of projects we take on to ensure the highest possible service and commitment to your home. This gives us the space and focus to truly understand your vision and walk alongside you through every step.
-
We are upfront in our budgeting and billing and never hide costs or lowball you to get your business. We also communicate the complete roadmap from the start and every step along the way, so you’re never left wondering what’s involved or where your project is at.
-
We hold ourselves to the highest standard of character and deportment, and our crew is respectful, conscientious, and professional at all times. You can expect a job site that is clean, organized, and treated with the same care that you treat your finished home.
-
When you choose Nestworks, we’re in it for the long haul. We’re an active collaborator from day one and stay personally invested in your home and your experience long after the warranty has ended, solving problems and being available to help because we care deeply about ensuring your home serves you well.
Our Core Values
-
Lead with stewardship
We’re obsessed with doing right by people. We carefully manage every aspect of the project — your budget, vision, and experience — and treat it as if it were our own. This stewardship mindset guides every decision we make.
-
Do it right
We never compromise on the fundamentals that make homes last. We combine time-tested building principles with proven innovation and leading-edge construction technology to ensure every detail meets our exacting standards for beauty, quality, and efficiency.
-
Build together
True collaboration creates better outcomes. We are committed to your vision for your home and partner with you and your design team every step of the way, bringing the craftsmanship, organization, and expertise necessary to deliver on your dream.
-
Communicate transparently
We choose integrity and openness over hidden costs and unclear project management. When everyone knows where they stand, we can focus on building great homes on a foundation of trust and service.
-
Grow people
What we pour into our people is what truly lasts. We prioritize apprenticeship and mentorship not just to grow a highly-skilled team but to help them build the career and life they’re looking for.
THE NESTWORKS TEAM
Who you’ll work with
We're tradespeople first — skilled carpenters who became businesspeople, not the other way around. That distinction matters. It means we know exactly what we're looking at when we walk onto your site, we understand how to solve the problems that come up in complex high-end projects, and we know that the on-site experience is as important as the final result.
With a direct line to our CEO and knowledgeable support from our team, you’ll never be shuffled between project managers or left wondering who to call when something comes up. You're working directly with people who care about getting it right, have the skill and experience to make it happen, and will stay connected to support you long after we hand you the keys.

Stephen Nestmann
Owner
Stephen completed his carpentry apprenticeship on the west side of Vancouver and spent years completing high-end custom residential projects before founding Nestworks in 2014. He's a single-family home expert and is certified in net zero building standards. Stephen leads every project, providing personal attention and technical expertise to ensure we achieve your vision. When he’s not on site or meeting with clients, you’ll find him spending time with his wife Erin and their four sons, singing in choir, or running on a track or soccer pitch somewhere in the Lower Mainland.

Krista
Operations & Admin
Krista grew up on Saltspring Island in a home her dad designed and built himself — early exposure that sparked a lifelong love for architecture, design, and making things. She brings resourcefulness and a wide range of skills to her role at Nestworks, where she orchestrates behind the scenes to keep projects and Nestworks running smoothly.Outside of work, she's passionate about health and wellness, loves to travel off the beaten path, and is known for her scrambled eggs (made the way her Oma did) and homemade yogurt that'll make your gut sing with joy.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHT:
Both Stephens Street and Oakridge. Wonderful clients and design team. In different ways they both have aspects that remind of the home my dad designed and built in the 70’s. I am always drawn to the warmth of wood and natural finishes and textures.

Bob
Site Supervisor
Bob joined Stephen on day one in 2014 and has been a cornerstone of the Nestworks team ever since. Born and raised in New Westminster, he started building at a young age and has developed a technically certified approach that brings precision, building science expertise, and disciplined execution to every project from start to completion. Bob is a specialist at reviving classic cars and believes in delayed gratification — an approach that serves him well in a job where patience and precision matter. Outside of work, Bob loves hanging out with his family or taking a winter camping trip to his secret remote spot (he’ll never tell).
PROJECT HIGHLIGHT:
I enjoy every project I work on, but if I had to choose one, it would be the Cambie project. High-end custom homes demand careful coordination and attention to detail, and seeing the design, trades, energy efficiency, and building performance come together from start to finish is what makes these projects especially rewarding.

Sasha
Site Supervisor
Sasha hails from the grand metropolis of Mannheim, Ontario, and brings both technical precision and easy rapport to the job site. As a kid, he wanted to be something between a teacher and an astronaut — now he mentors apprentices and manages complex construction projects, so he's landed somewhere in between. Sasha loves camping and traveling abroad, and he makes a mean sandwich.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHT:
My favourite project was Stephens Street. It was fun working with the client and design team. Their vision was exciting and very creative. I enjoyed working on a house that was so detail-oriented, right from the floor to the ceiling. We built a very warm and calming space, something that I appreciate more and more in such a chaotic world — truly a sanctuary from the everyday hustle and bustle.

Dave
Site Supervisor
Dave grew up on Salt Spring Island and is known for his problem-solving skills and his ability to keep projects moving smoothly even when challenges come up. He wanted to be a professional snowboarder when he was younger, and while his career path took a different direction, he still chases powder on his days off. He's also a sourdough bread specialist and spends his free time mountain biking, golfing, and traveling with his family.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHT:
I enjoy the challenge that every new project brings. I take pride in finding practical, creative solutions to complex design requirements so we can deliver a high-quality home that exceeds our clients’ expectations.

Callum
Site Supervisor
Callum moved to Canada from Trinidad at age four and grew up in North Vancouver with a mindset shaped by practical self-reliance and resilience. He's a connoisseur of solving problems rather than talking about them and brings a steady, adaptable approach to every project, focused on long-term thinking and continuous improvement rather than shortcuts. When he's not managing builds, he's likely tending his vegetable garden, tuning an engine, or putting in a structured cycling or strength training session.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHT:
I would say my favourite project is the current one I’m on now. It has a well thought out practical design, classic details with a blend of West Coast influences. The design team and trades are all approachable, definitely a collaborative effort.
It all starts with a conversation.
The first step towards your new custom home is a simple call or email.
